Did you know that Google has a whole bunch of largely
undocumented tricks you can use with your AdWords account?
One of the coolest tricks that I use is the dynamic
insertion feature; especially the keyword flavor.
As a general rule, ads get a higher click through rate (CTR)
when they have the search keywords within the ad itself. So
simply if someone is searching for "twin fin surfboard" they
are more likely to click on the ad that has "Twin Fin
Surfboard" in its title.
So instead of having to match ads and keywords exactly, you
can include a special tag in your ad that attempts to use
the searched keyword in the ad.
All you need to do is to use the following tag in your ads
title (or anywhere else you choose). There is a "Backup
Phrase" part will be used if the keyword phrase searched for
is too long. There are two formats:
{keyword:Backup Phrase} will use the phrase as it's typed,
which is usually lowercase.
So a real ad might look like:
{Keyword:Amazing Google Ads}
Kick your competitors in the head.
Write killer Google Ads - See how.
GreatLandingPage.com
Here's another trick.
{KeyWord:Backup Phrase} will capitalize all the words in the
phrase despite how it's typed.
So like all things, you should test this to see if it helps
you get higher CTR's. I have personally found that it does
around 50% of the time. Try it for yourself.
